Filipino company dB Wizards, Inc. bagged the much coveted Asia Pacific Award for Learning Solutions and Business Intelligence Competencies in the 2005 Microsoft Partner Awards Program. dB Wizards was chosen from fourteen countries comprising the Asia Pacific region including Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hongkong, Korea, India among others. dB Wizards represented Asia Pacific in the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference, Microsoft Corporation's premier annual event for industry partners, held in Minneapolis, Minnesota last July 7-9, 2005. This is dB Wizards' third consecutive year to represent Asia Pacific in the Learning Solutions category and first time in the Business Intelligence Solutions category.

The Microsoft Partner Awards Program recognizes Microsoft Certified Partners for their innovative use of the latest Microsoft technologies to deliver solutions that exceed customers' expectations. Winners were selected from the entries submitted by Microsoft Certified Partners worldwide based on solutions that demonstrated excellence in Microsoft's emerging technologies.

In Learning Solutions, dB Wizards was distinguished for the Sharepoint course it customized and conducted for the country's most progressive development bank. The bank used to have manual processing of managing documents as their Sharepoint portal was nearly sitting idly in their machines. The training enabled the bank to implement the Sharepoint portal to automate its document management processes. The bank's IT team was also able to develop a full-fledged Executive Information System that allows users to collaborate and communicate together on a larger scale and customize the sites and its contents. Apart from streamlining the bank's business processes, the system also reduced total paper consumption of the bank by about 20%.

dB Wizards was selected in the Business Intelligence competency for its work in ABS-CBN Interactive (ABSi), a subsidiary of ABS-CBN that offers electronic media content to mobile phone users. dB Wizards led the development of a business intelligence solution code named Project88 composed of a data warehouse running on Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and data mining solution based on the beta 2 edition of Microsoft SQL Server 2005. With Project88 in place, ABSi was able to double the response rates to its cross selling initiatives for ring tones. The system also allowed users to get accurate and up-to-date reports as well as do ad hoc reporting against the data warehouse gathering information in minutes instead of days which enables them to make more timely observations and decisions. The upgrading to SQL Server 2005 likewise resulted to eight times faster data mining prediction that allowed ABSi to send out recommendations to more users.
